Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign rewards

The new CoD is nearly here. Modern Warfare 2 is just days from release, and there are even more goodies for players who pre-order than before, including early access to the game’s campaign eight days before launch.

An update to the Call of Duty website lays out these rewards in detail, in addition to an additional hook: Those who preorder the game now will get early access to the campaign “up to one week” before the game’s official Oct. 28 release date (The site, curiously, does not specify when “early access” begins). The appeal is simple: players who pre-order will get to unlock all those campaign perks and have them ready for when the multiplayer goes live on launch day, and Activision gets your money faster, making the game’s launch weekend even bigger.

How long it takes to beat MW2's campaign depends on what difficulty you play on, and whether you're trying to get any Trophies or Achiements along the way - like opening all the safes for the 'Gentleman Thief' accolade.

Generally speaking though, if playing on Recruit or Regular difficulty and only focusing on clearing each level, it'll take six to eight hours to beat the campaign in Modern Warfare 2.

Although there are more missions than normal, some are shorter, making this the usual length of a Call of Duty game.

All of these rewards can be earned piecemeal as players progress through the campaign, with the blueprint for famed Call of Duty hero Captain Price’s signature weapon “Union Guard” as a reward for finishing the whole thing.
